Hi everyone.
Like many of you I was really close to "get a bargain" ford galaxy (probably the one from previous message)... This time it was Isobel Kirk who recently has moved to her family in Huelva, Spain.
I don't know why I've started to look for some information about Yahoo Protection Service, but after I didn't find anything on Yahoo website I've started searching on forums - and that's how I've saved GBP4000 that I've just lended from my bank!
Like someone said - free cheese is only in a mouse trap!

I beg to differ forestboy, this set up is not highly organized.it is so obvious that anyone who was not blinded by greed, gullibility.and the willingness to believe that this"unbelievable bargain" really could be true would see it from a long way off.
i iterate what i said on the other board regarding these scams, the levels of naivety and stupidity when it comes to actually thinking that it makes sense to deal with a private seller and buy a car from another country are really staggering.
The fantastic yarns that these people spin when rolling out their sales pitch should alert anyone with an ounce of common sense that it is all a fairy story.so,once again, wake up people and remember;when that wonderful bargain looks too good to be true IT IS!.

those shouting the loudest about their hatred of BMW drivers appear to be bad at spelling and grammar.

Should I start a thread complaining about poor grammar and spelling?

No....because that would be mean.

OMG i nearlly sent them the money and just wanted to double check the site and found it dont exist and had the same story moved for family and right hand drive not left so no one wants etc.... thanks for this website!!!! incase anyone else gets caught out heres his details he sent me..
Hello there,
I am glad to hear that you are interested to buy my 2008 Ford Galaxy 2.0 TDCi 140PS. Although I am registered in the UK,i recently moved to Cadiz, Spain (where my family is from) and the car is being shipped from here. I want to sell it in UK due to the fact that it's an UK version (right handed),it meets all UK standards.I bought this car from UK and It still has UK registration, so you won't have to pay any import and insurance fees. The car meets all United Kingdom guidelines so there will be no problem regarding UK Customs policy on receiving the car.The car is in perfect condition, the bodywork is immaculate,no scratches, dents or hidden defects as well as the interior in excellent non-smoking condition , never been implied in any accident and it is as advertised .The car comes with log book, HPI cleared, No finance. You will get from me the keys and all documents to register the car in you name.If the car is not how i described it, i will offer a full refund. It will be insured during transportation and will be delivered at your address in maximum 10 days. Final price is £4,000 (the price includes shipping and insurance fees). The price is low because the car is right hand drive in a country where all cars are left hand drive so in the Spain is very difficult to drive this type of vehicle and nobody wants to buy it here in Spain.Instead of keeping it in garage (during this economical crisis), I decided to sell it to someone back in the UK for a really attractive price.
I want to take this opportunity to assure you that this deal is 100% legitimate, the deal will be manage by a very well company,in this way both buyer and seller are 100% covered during the steps of this transaction.
Let me know if you need any further details or if you would like to buy my car.
Thank you!

I'm a member - and truthfully I'd be of the opinion that you want to be out of gear before you start loading up the brake pedal. It's unlikely you'll lock any wheels however unless you drive a much older car which, generally speaking, are less likely to suffer this type of problem due to the technology being much simpler.

The part I find staggering is that this advice has to be given at all! Surely if you had any sense of self preservation, you'd let it rev out in neutral even if it did go pop in the end.

The engine screaming against the limiter and the valves parting company with the head would be least of my concerns, I'd just add it to the warranty claim on the grounds that it would be a secondary failure as a direct result of the primary fault.

Talking Car Insurance rises every year , even although you haven't made a claim for years. Last year mine's was £224 by a well known UK insurance company , this year the same company raised it to £268 , blaming the increase of tax , even although I hadn't made a claim. I phoned around and given quotes online but all of them were still dearer than my present insurer. I call this 'rip-off' Britain. When I started driving 25 years ago , my fully comp insurance was only £186 , hows that for a rip-off?. In 25 years , my insurance has GONE UP by nearly 100 quid.

You have hit the nail on the head here steve;reading through these tales of woe it is hard to believe the level of gullibility and frankly, stupidity that exists out there.of course when greed and the possibility of that UNBELIEVABLE bargain enters the equation then all vestiges of common sense go out the window.
How potential buyers can not see through the fabulous and wonderful tales told by these rip off merchants within about 15 seconds is beyond comprehension. They are the automotive equivalent of those scams from nigeria;remember, when someone you have never heard of wants to put about 6 and a half million pounds into your bank account.you really need to get real people.
Why would anyone even contemplate buying a car from spain, poland or anywhere else for that matter given the amount of hassle involved and that this place is coming down with cars.
Again, greed, gullibility, and the vain hope that that fantastic bargain might just be true after all.WAKE UP FOLKS.

Hey guys

This is unbelievable. They are not clever enough to change the wording of the e-mails at least! I pasted the e-mail wording in google and was forwarded to this blog. A few months ago I found this Audi TT convertible at an amazing price of GBP6000. I sent an e-mail for information and the guy (milanaron@yahoo.co.uk) explained that the car is in Spain and he wants to sell it due to the economic crises. I lost interest at the time...

Yesterday I logged on and found another Audi TT. Coupe this time(2009, 3200 miles on autotrader.co.uk) for GBP6000 again. I sent an e-mail and the answer was this:

"Hello there,
I am glad to hear that you are interested to buy my 2009 AUDI TT 2.0 TDI Quattro! Final price is GBP 6,000 (the price includes shipping and insurance fees). The price is low because the car is right hand drive in a country where all cars are left hand drive so in the Spain is very difficult to drive this type of vehicle and nobody wants to buy it here in Spain.Instead of keeping it in garage (during this economical crisis), I decided to sell it to someone back in the UK for a really attractive price.I want to take this opportunity to assure you that this deal is 100% legitimate, the deal will be manage by a well known company,in this way both buyer and seller are 100% covered during the steps of this transaction.
Let me know if you need any further details or if you would like to buy my car.
Thank you! "

Identical stories - what a coincidence! Checked the net and it said -- SCAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMM.

Cheers guys

I have a blue badge but to get it I had to be in receipt of the highest rate mobulity benefit and produce the proof. I also think the photo should be on the front of the badge, which is logical. Apparently Help the Aged are the ones who said it would breech our human rights. A load of ********. I don't mind breeching those rights if it keeps a place free for me to park.
I can squeeze out of the car but need to open the door fully to get back in.
I reported one car load for being obviously not disabled, to be told, two months later, that the badge was stolen.
I also agree that the hospitals should be able to issue a short term badge for people with broken limbs and torn ligaments, etc.
Perhaps one of a different colour, valid from one hospital appointment to the next. This would also make sure people kept their appontments which apparently is quite a problem. There are enough people sitting chatting on the NHS for someone in the hospital to issue them or as this government likes making jobs they can make another three per hospital to issue the temporary badges.
I also agree about the different parking laws for each borough. In mine I can only park for three hours in a disabled bay but all day, without charge, in an ordinary bay. I feel safer on the double yellow lines.
What I would like is some disabled bays tucked out of the way of other cars so I can get my scooter out of the back of the van without being in the way of other cars.
Why can't we be asked what we want - not Help the Aged or other organisations which are mostly manned ny non-disabled people. Rant Over - Most of us are all lucky to be here at all.

i agree with you there grommit;unless the reason for the test failure is also made known these statistics can paint a totally distorted picture
here in northern ireland, unlike the rest of the uk,testing is carried out by an official agency, the driver and vehicles agency,a branch of the department of the environment.
vehicles can and have been turned down for reasons as diverse and trivial as no water in the screen wash,a bulb failure or slight discolouring of the lens, wrong spacing of letters on the number plate, and in my own case once a borderline tyre tread depth.faults like these can hardly be attributed to the manufacturers.
of course it probably has nothing to do either with the fact that one has to then go and re-arrange a re-test at approximately 60% of the full test fee where the only thing that is then checked is the item that failed.30 seconds to wave me in and check that a new tyre had been fitted.nice little earner do`nt you think?.

Why does everybody seem to think that the judging factor on wether a person is disabled or not is simply 'do they look it?' what does mental illness look like? What does autism look like? What do severe visual imparements look like?

I'm severly visualy impaired but I'm also a 25 year old woman who wants to be independant wherever possible. I don't want a cane I'm never out without my boyfriend anyway so I don't feel the need for one. I don't wear a big plastic black visor I wear index 4 black sunglasses I had ordered from a company that make them for extreme weather sports in the brightest parts of the world.

I WILL NOT USE A CANE JUST TO APEASE SOME IGNORANT PEOPLE

I will get out of the car unaided and will walk straight around the car to my partner meeting him at the front or back depending which way we're parked. I'll then take his arm just like any other young couple might.

And when inside the shop I won't look dissables either as my vision greatly improves indoors where light is low but I still need my dark glasses. My partner won't go far from my side either as he knows I won't see where he is if he does. But you won't notice this either will you.

When we're done I'll walk out of the shop carrying bags just as he does because I know if I stay right by him we'll be at the car very quickly and because we're in a dissables bay I won't have to be guided the whole length of the car park dodging stationary and moving cars as we go with my no longer able to carry bags as I'd be hanging on to his elbow.

It gives us safety to be more independant if we want to and some of us spend our whole lives trying to be independant and trying not to 'look dissabled' and not to feel it either. I'll definatly choose parking a dissabled' space and being almost fully independant over parking a long way from where we're going and having to be physicaly led and guided the whole way there and back. I hate being led anywhere it makes me really feel dissabled' and all dissabled' people want to be able to forget that they are as much as they can in life.

Anyway I ended up with the courtesy car for 4 months as they couldn't get the part from France and ended up not being charged as I became scary angry customer. Got rid of the car soon after as felt let down but got a few recall letters from Citroen for a few years as I was still on their database for other minor issues.
Just a thought - Parent and child spaces are provided because parents might need the extra space around them for prams etc. So why is it necessary for them to be close to the entrance? Having a child shouldnt have an impact on the ability to walk distances. If they put the parent and child places further away from the store there would be less incentive for others to use them. If parents want the benefit they should be prepared to comprimise (mind you, as I have previously said I dont actualy agree with parent and child places). So when they move the parent and child places to the back of the car park thay can re-badge the ones nearer the store as disabled bays (they are already marked out as wider bays) and every body is happy - well except for those parents who think that having a child gives them special rights (I pay the same for the products in store, so should have the same parking rights - they chose to have children!! - rant over, sorry). Disabled bays are different - when I last checked disability isnt a choice.......
