After checking, it seems there is currently only one legitimate Escrow service which is Financial Services Authority (FSA) and HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) registered.
www.TrustedFriend.com opened on 1 November 2009. You can check the FSA online register to check they are legitimate. HMRC don't offer an online register yet, but they will by the end of 2009 according to the HMRC website. Best of all, www.TrustedFriend.com only costs £2.99. So finally there is a legitimate Escrow service for UK car buyers and sellers. And at a fixed low price Rating :
